![]() If I come back in the summer, I will come back to see what the waterfall looks like when it is not frozen. ![]() Once you reach the falls, this is the gorgeous view that you have in the winter. I noticed that even just walking around town sometimes would get my heart rate up. To give you a reference, Telluride’s elevation is 8,750 feet while Scottsdale’s elevation is 1,257 feet. Although this hike was extremely short, it definitely had my heart pumping due to the elevation. If you are like me and didn’t even know that Yaktrax existed, they are basically a shoe slip on traction meant for ice so that you stay stable and don’t slip. I don’t know if I could have hiked to the falls without them because it was so slippery. Since we hiked in early March, there was ice on pretty much the entire trail to the falls. This week’s trail to Cornet Falls is a very short and sweet 0.6 mile out-and-back hike. Telluride was a very charismatic mountain town that I’m really glad I explored. I hoped that I was prepared with the right clothing considering the fact that it was only 1 degree when I woke up in the morning there. While I was in Telluride, I was able to explore the town and do something I’ve never done before: hike in the snow. Six of us decided to hop in a truck and make our way to Telluride, Colorado.
